Can the potting glue be used after it expires?

Potting glue is used for bonding, sealing, potting and coating protection of electronic components.There are three main types of potting glue that are most commonly used on the market: epoxy resin potting glue, silicone potting glue, and polyurethane potting glue.

Expired products are, of course, products that have degraded in functionality or are unusable.Silicone materials are resistant to atmospheric aging and UV aging.If the silicone potting glue is expired, it means that the adhesiveness does not meet the requirements, which may cause the product life to be greatly reduced or become unstable.

1. The thickener in the colloid reacts with the hydrogen-containing silicone oil in the component to produce hydrogen, causing bubbles.

2. The mechanical strength of the glue deteriorates. During the curing process, the stress of the glue is unevenly dispersed due to the different overall curing degrees, and the local glue is torn, resulting in bubble-like things.

3. There is a gap between the silver paste that fixes the chip and the chip. After the glue is injected, the gap will form bubbles at the chip. When heated, the bubbles will grow larger, affecting the performance of the electrical product.
