Baling Petrochemical 50,000 tons/year epichlorohydrin project

With the strong support of the High-tech Zone, Sinopec Baling Petrochemical Co., Ltd.'s 50,000-ton/year environmentally friendly epichlorohydrin industrial demonstration plant has completed all procedures. At present, 70% of the detailed design progress is completed, and the completion rate of equipment procurement is 87.5%. The site leveling and other work in the early stage of the project has been started in March 2023. According to investment estimates, the annual sales income of the project will reach 534.98 million yuan during the operation period, and the value-added tax will reach 17.29 million yuan.

Baling Petrochemical's 50,000-ton/year environmentally friendly epichlorohydrin industrial demonstration plant project adopts a new environmentally friendly epichlorohydrin synthesis process, replacing the two-step reaction of chlorohydrinization and saponification in the chlorohydrin method with a one-step reaction of epoxidation of propylene chloride. Compared with the chlorohydrin method, the waste water production per ton of epichlorohydrin product is reduced by 95%, and the discharge of refractory calcium chloride waste residue is completely eliminated. The project has significant environmental advantages. The project was approved for basic design on September 13, 2022, and the total construction investment is 520 million yuan.
