Application of room temperature curing epoxy adhesives in various industries

Room temperature curing epoxy adhesive is an adhesive with a series of advantages such as saving time, effort, labor, energy, and easy use, and is used in all walks of life. Experts from the Epoxy Resin Industry Association in China divide room temperature curing epoxy resin adhesives into two categories: ordinary epoxy adhesives and special epoxy adhesives that cure at room temperature.

Room temperature curing epoxy adhesive features:

1. Since the indoor temperature is not heated for curing, the curing process is simple, easy to use, no vulcanization equipment is required, energy saving and cost reduction.

2. Higher bond strength, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and electrical properties are usually lower than those of medium temperature and high temperature curing agents.  In particular, thermal resistance decreases rapidly with increasing temperature. The long-term use temperature generally does not exceed 80°C.

3. Short cycle time at room temperature.

4. Curing time is usually 24 hours to reach suitable strength and 3-7 days to reach maximum strength, depending on the temperature.

5. It has the advantages of low cost, easy use and high room temperature, so it has a wide range of applications and large demand. It is the most popular type of epoxy adhesive.

Notes on room temperature curing epoxy adhesives:

1. Must be cured at room temperature (15-40°C).

2. With high strength, heat resistance and good use of appropriate technology combined.

3. Generally, epoxy adhesives should be considered to reduce costs.

4. Room temperature curing should also ensure specific properties.  Structural adhesives should improve bonding strength and durability; fast-curing adhesives should further improve reactivity, etc.
