Epoxy resin structural adhesive is a solvent-free, liquid epoxy resin adhesive that can be cured at room temperature or heated.After curing, the next layer has medium to high hardness, so it can withstand strong impact and vibration, non-corrosive, and is widely used in FRP products.Usually, a glue layer of about 0.8 mm thick is sufficient for bonding.When the curing temperature is lower than 15℃, the bonding effect will be very poor. The best bonding effect can be obtained when curing at 25℃~70℃.The vacuum curing method can make the low molecular weight substances evaporate more completely, making the FRP products denser, thus improving the strength of the products.
Application of epoxy resin structural adhesive in FRP products: Mainly used in complex FRP sculptures, FRP car shells, FRP floors, FRP tank cars, FRP instrument shells and epoxy resin local reinforcement materials.
Epoxy resin structural adhesive is divided into three grades according to strength, as follows:
1. The first level is used for bonding the main load-bearing structure and is a structural adhesive;
2. The second level is used for bonding secondary load-bearing structures and is a quasi-structural adhesive;
3. Level 3 has no requirements for peel strength and should be classified as a non-structural adhesive.
