Application of epoxy resin in coatings

Epoxy resin accounts for a large proportion of the application in coatings, and it can be made into varieties with different characteristics and uses.

1. Excellent chemical resistance, especially alkali resistance.

2. Strong film adhesion, especially to metal.

3. Good heat resistance and electrical insulation.

4. Excellent color retention.

However, bisphenol A epoxy resin coatings have poor weather resistance, and the paint film is prone to powdering, losing gloss, and lacking fullness outdoors, making them unsuitable for outdoor coatings or highly decorative coatings. Therefore, epoxy resin coatings are mainly used as anti-corrosion paints, metal primers, and insulating paints.
